But I like to make it very simple with only four ingredients: broken wheat, milk, sugar, and ghee. That’s the way how I learned from my mother. I don’t like any flavor or nuts in my daliya kheer. I like it simple with a sweet or creamy consistency, and it tastes delicious. When you try it yourself, you want more and more of it.

Sugar- I used white sugar. Brown sugar and jaggery can also be used. You can use a natural sweetener like honey instead of this.
Nuts- I used chopped walnuts to garnish; you can use any nuts of your choice.
How to make meetha daliya recipe
1. Heat one tablespoon of ghee in a deep cauldron/pot on medium heat.

2. When it gets heated, add 1 cup of broken wheat and roast it.

3. Roast until aromatic; it takes 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat.

4. When it is roasted, add 2 to 2.5 cups of milk to it and cook on medium heat.

5. Stir at intervals so that the broken wheat doesn’t stick at the bottom.

6. When they are soft, it’s time to add sugar. It takes 15 minutes to get soft on a medium flame. You can add more milk here if you want a thin consistency of daliya.

7. Now add 1/2 cup of white sugar to it. Cook until the sugar dissolves properly.

8. When the sugar is completely dissolved, it reaches a thick and creamy consistency. Turn off the flame.
