- 1 cup broken wheat
- 2.5 cups milk
- ½ cup sugar/jaggery
- 1 tbsp ghee
- nuts to garnish
Heat ghee in a deep pot and add broken wheat.
Roast it until aromatic and light golden on medium heat.
Now add the milk to the roasted broken wheat and cook it on medium heat.
Stir in between and cook until the broken wheat is soft and has a creamy texture.
When the broken wheat is soft and creamy in consistency, it's time to add sugar.
Add half a cup of sugar to it and mix well.
Cook it until the sugar dissolves properly.
Now turn off the flame and serve with your favorite nuts.
- Always roast broken wheat before cooking for better flavor.
- Stir at intervals to avoid sticking.
- If you want to add jaggery, add it when it's completely cooked, and you turn off the flame.
- Cook on low to medium flame for soft and well-cooked daliya.
