About tomato juice
Tomatoes are not only a vegetable, but we used them in sauces, canes, smoothies, and soups. Today I’m going to share with you a homemade tomato juice recipe which is so simple to prepare that you can easily add it to your meals.
As the name suggests, we need the fresh tomatoes here to make this juice, and some lemon juice and salt for flavoring. All together are enough to prepare this energetic and refreshing drink or juice.
Sometimes other vegetables are added, like carrot and onion, to make it extra nutritious. But I like to make it with only tomatoes.
There are two methods to prepare this tomato juice recipe: first, boiling all the vegetables, then blending till smooth in texture. The second one is what I’m sharing with you: simply chop the tomatoes, then blend with other ingredients until smooth, which is also my favorite method.

Health benefits of tomato juice
As we all know, tomatoes are known for their high levels of vitamin C, potassium, and fibre. They are highly nutritious and low-calorie foods, which are good to consume in our daily meals.
According to Ayurveda, tomato juice is rich in antioxidants that help to protect the cells and support heart health. It also detoxifies the body by flushing out the harmful toxins and boosts the immune system.
The tomato is also heating and sour in nature at the same time, which means it should be consumed in moderation. Excessive intake of it can increase pitta dosha and irritate the stomach. So, moderation is the key.

Ingredients
Tomatoes- Use red, ripe, and juicy tomatoes to make this juice. They are good for offering classic and flavorful taste.
Water- Half a cup of water is good to maintain consistency. You can add more if want thinner juice.
Lemon juice- It adds extra tang to the juice.
Black salt- I prefer to use black salt as it helps in digestion. But regular white salt also works well.
