About suji pakora

This rava pakora is an instant appetiser that you can make in minutes. I get inspired by Pinterest to make this recipe and share it with you to add to your snack meals too. I personally like this pakora a lot, not because the process is super quick, but its taste is super delicious. The soft inside and crisp outside texture give an authentic vibe when paired with a cup of hot masala tea.

It is made by mixing rava, curd, chopped onion and chilli seasoning with salt. Mix all ingredients and form a smooth batter, and let it rest for some time so the rava can absorb properly. After that, deep-fried the small fritters from the batter until golden and crispy.

I make this instant rava pakora recipe with simple ingredients. If you want to make it more nutritious and healthy, you can add other vegetables like boiled potatoes, grated capsicum, green peas, and carrots. I don’t like any of them except onion because I feel the simpler it is, the more amazing it tastes.

This suji/semolina is a versatile ingredient that easily adjusts to both sweet and savoury flavours. You can use it to make halwa, kheer, chilla, upma, and this rava pakora. All versions are good to taste; you can also try them.

Ingredients

  • Rava- I used medium coarse semolina in this pakora recipe. Fine semolina will also work well.
  • Curd- Use fresh whisked curd in the batter.
  • Onion- One medium chopped onion is enough. You can add more vegetables like capsicum, carrots, peas, and potatoes.
  • Green chilli- Use to make a pakora spicy, instead you can use red chilli powder.
  • Salt- Regular white salt is good to use.
  • Oil- I use mustard oil for frying; you can use any neutral oil.
