Poha is known by many alternative names like kanda poha, indori poha, and batata poha. But one thing made it common, i.e., its deliciousness. The process of making this poha recipe is the same whether it’s kanda poha or batata poha. The only difference is that we add potatoes to batata poha.

How to make a Poha Recipe
1.Take poha in a strainer or bowl and rinse it in clear water with your fingers two to three times. Then keep it aside and do not soak it in water for more than the rinsing time.

2. Then chop the onion, tomatoes, green chili, and coriander leaves into small pieces.

3. Heat a pan, add peanuts on a medium flame, and fry them until aromatic or a brown shade on the outside.

4. When the peanuts have a brown shade outside, transfer them to a bowl.

5. Now, take the same pan, add 1 tbsp mustard oil with mustard and cumin seeds on medium heat. Let them sizzle for a few seconds.

6. Add chopped onions and allow them to roast until golden brown.

7. When the onion has a golden texture, add chopped tomatoes. Now allow them to soften; it takes 3 to 4 minutes on medium heat.

8. When the tomatoes are softened properly, add turmeric and salt.

9. After that, add soaked poha, raisins, peanuts, and green chili.

10. Mix all the ingredients well and garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Cook it for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.

11. Now turn off the flame and squeeze lemon juice on it.

12. Again, mix well. The poha is ready to serve.

Serve the poha hot or warm as you like with yogurt, green chutney, or grated coconut. You can serve it with tea, which also tastes best. You can pack it in the lunch boxes.

- When you rinse the poha, drain the excess water and set it aside immediately. Do not soak it in for more than the rinsing time, or your poha would be mushy and sticky.

Ingredients
- 1 cup Poha ( rice flakes)
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium tomato, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
- ½ tsp salt or as per your taste
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ⅓ tsp mustard seeds
- ⅓ tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tbsp mustard oil
- 1 tbsp raisins
- 1 tbsp peanuts (ground nuts)
- 1 tsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Rinse the poha in clean water twice or thrice. Keep it aside.
- Chop the vegetables and coriander leaves into small pieces.
- Roast the peanuts on a medium flame till aromatic.
- In the same pan, add oil with mustard and cumin seeds on medium heat. Let them sizzle.
- Add chopped onions and roast till golden.
- Add chopped tomatoes and raost soft or mushy. It takes 3 to 4 minutes on medium heat.
- Add turmeric powder and salt.
- After that add soaked poha, raisins, peanuts, and green chili.
- Mix all the ingredients well and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
