About Masala Chai Recipe:-
Masala Chai is also known as Masala Tea. In Hindi, “Masala” means “Spices”, and “Chai” refers to “Tea”. When spices, black tea powder, milk, and sugar simmer together, this aromatic masala chai recipe develops.
This masala chai is famous all over India. From the tea stalls to every home. The tea stalls are found near the local roads or highways where travelers stop and sit to take a sip of masala chai. I also experienced taking a sip of masala chai at tea stalls. It gives another level of vibes! comforted, refreshed, and satisfied.
From my childhood, I see this masala made in our home every single day. My father likes it the most they take 2 to 3 cups of chai in a day. One is bed tea, the second is with breakfast, and the third cup is in the evening. This masala chai is good to take in winter for keeping body warm. But my father also takes in summer too. They never miss a moment to say no to chai.
Everyone has their version of preparing chai. Some make it simple with water, tea, milk, and sugar. I also like that version if we prepare it only on daily basis. But if you need a different and aromatic taste then try my version of masala chai recipe.
Ingredients:-
Milk: I use homemade cow’s milk in this masala chai. Use good quality store bought milk, which also works well here.
Tea: Use taj mahal tea here for a rich and flavorful taste. You can also use other tea for this recipe.
Spices: I used basic spices: two green cardamoms, two black peppers, two cloves, one inch of cinnamon, and one inch of ginger. This substitution is good enough. Always use good quality spices for aromatic flavor.
Sugar: I use regular white sugar here. But if you want to add brown sugar and jaggery they are also good. For adding jaggery first you have to simmer chai properly then add jaggery after turning off the flame.
