Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp tea
  • 1 inch ginger gated or crushed
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 green cardamoms
  • 2 cloves
  • 2 black peppers
  • 2 tsp sugar

Instructions

  • First, take all spices: one inch peeled ginger, one inch cinnamon, 2 cloves, 2 green cardamom, 2 black pepper in a small mortar pestle.
  • Then, crush all of them to a fine powder or paste.
  • After that, take a saucepan and add 1.5 cups of water with crushed spices on a medium flame.
  • When the water simmers, add 1 tsp of black tea to it.
  • Then again, wait until the spiced water comes to a boil.
  • After that, add 1 cup of milk to it.
  • Then, wait until a rolling boil. It takes 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
  • When the rolling boil comes, then again simmer it on low flame.
  • Then add 2 tsp sugar to it. I add sugar according to my taste. You can adjust it to your taste.
  • Again, simmer it and turn off the flame.
  • Lastly, with the help of a tea strainer, pour masala chai into serving cups.

Notes

  • I use the water-to-milk ratio of 1.5:1, which is good enough to make a delicious masala chai. You can use 1:1, which is also good.
  • You can choose and skip spices according to your taste preferences.
