About mango milkshake

Mango shake is a fruit-based drink in which the mango is the hero. This shake has a classic, thick, and vegan version, which I will share a classic version with you. Classic is a simple way to blend ripe mangoes with chilled milk and a little sugar or honey. In veganism, dairy milk is replaced with plant-based milk, such as coconut or almond milk.

Both have the same taste, but the texture is a little different, and the consistency is a little thicker when making vegan. Scoops of ice cream like vanilla, mango pulp pieces, some chopped nuts, and tooty fruity are the way to make it a healthier and more filling drink.

A creamy and delicious mango milkshake, when consumed chilled, is the best way to fight summer. You can find this shake from a small stall to a restaurant to every home. Oats banana smoothie or banana milkshake are also comforting and filling drinks in hot weather.

This homemade mango milkshake version needs only three ingredients: ripe mangoes, chilled dairy milk, and some sugar. All together blend till smooth and creamy.

Ingredients

Mangoes- Juicy and ripe mangoes work well in this shake recipe. I used the banganapalli variety, another variety, alphonso, which is also fine. Avoid using raw mangoes, which can hurt your stomach.

Milk- Full-fat dairy milk gives good texture and consistency to the mango shake. For a vegan option, use cashew, almond, and coconut milk.

Sugar- Refined sugar, brown sugar, palm sugar, honey, and maple syrup all work great. Choose according to your taste preference. I used white sugar. If the mangoes are naturally sweet enough, then skip adding anything.

How to make a homemade mango milkshake recipe

1. Rinse the chilled mangoes in clean water and peel their skin. Chop into pieces without a stone and add to a blender jar.

3. Pour 2 cups of chilled dairy milk into them. You can add some ice cubes here if you want a slightly thinner consistency. I don’t add because I like it smooth and creamy.

4. Blend till it becomes a smooth consistency without any pulp remaining in the blender. If your shake becomes thicker, then add some milk and blend again.

Pour into large glasses and serve chilled with some topping of Tutti Fruiti, which my baby brother likes the most. You can add some chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews), ice cubes, and some mango pieces as a topping. You can garnish with some saffron strands for a rich flavor.

Variations

However, this classic mango milkshake tastes comforting and satisfying on its own without any fancy ingredients. But still, you want to try a variation of it, then make it according to your taste preferences:

Ice Cream Mango Milkshake- Vanilla, mango, and coconut ice cream all complement the shake for a unique, creamy richness. Add 2 scoops of ice cream when blending mangoes for a thick consistency.

Dry Fruit Mango Milkshake- Common dry fruits are added for nutrition: cashews, almonds, pistachios, and raisins. You can use them as a topping and blend with mango and milk for a filling drink. Soak them first for a creamier taste.

Vegan Mango Milkshake- Replace the dairy milk with any plant-based milk of your choice. Oat milk, cashew milk, almond milk, and coconut milk are all used for the vegan shake.
