About Til Ladoo
Til ladoo is basically prepared with sesame seeds, peanuts, dry coconut, jaggery, and ghee. Roast them and make a mixture of all together. Shape the ladoos, and that’s called the sesame ladoo.
Til ladoo are also known as sesame ladoo. There are many types of sesame: white, brown, and black. White and brown are perfect for making these ladoos. I used white sesame seeds because they have a better taste than brown ones.
I feel that with the coming winter, many foods are also waiting to be tried, and sesame ladoo is one of them. There are two festivals, Lohri and Makar Sankranti, that are celebrated every year in India in January. Both have the cultural significance of til and gur ladoo. I am not from a Punjabi background, so instead of Lohri, Makar Sankranti holds a unique place in my heart.
During childhood till yet, I eagerly waited for Makar Sankranti. My mother makes a lot of til laddos and fills a very big jar, and everyone passes, filling their hands with 1 or 2 ladoos for sure. This festival is filled with happiness and sweetness in the perfect ratio.
There are many ways of making these ladoos, but I will show you the simplest and easiest way that anyone can make them for themself.
