Sattu Chilla Recipe - Healthy, Protein-Rich & Easy Breakfast

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sattu flour
  • ½ cup gram flour
  • 1 medium tomato
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • tsp ajwain seeds
  • ¼ tsp garam masala
  • water as needed for batter
  • oil for roasting

Instructions
 

  • Take all the veggies and chop into small pieces.
  • Add sattu flour and gram flour to a mixing bowl.
  • Now add water and make a smooth batter.
  • After that, add salt, turmeric, garam masala, and ajwain seeds.
  • Now add all the chopped vegetables and herbs.
  • Mix all the ingredients well, and the batter is ready.
  • Heat tawa on medium heat and sprinkle some oil on it.
  • Pour the batter with a spoon into the middle of the tawa.
  • Now spread the batter into a round circle and pour the oil all over its edges.
  • After a minute, turn it to the other side and pour oil to the edges this side too.
  • Cook it a minute this side or until golden crunchy flakes come.
  • When the golden flakes comes on the chilla remove it.
  • Repeat the same process to the rest batter.

Notes

  • Use fresh sattu flour for the best flavor and texture.
  • Always add half a cup of gram flour or semolina to avoid breaking.
  • Keep the batter of medium consistency (not too thick or thin).
  • You can rest the batter for 5-10 minutes for fluffy chilla's.
  • Cook on a medium flame for even cooking.
  • Add a little oil around the edges for a crisp texture.
  • Don't flip too early- let one side cook properly.
