Roti Churma Recipe | Quick and Easy Indian Dessert

Ingredients
  

For Dough

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • water to make dough

For Churma

  • 3 roti fresh / leftover
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • 2-3 tbsp ghee

Instructions
 

  • Add 1 cup of wheat flour to a platter or mixing bowl.
  • Pour water and knead it into a soft and smooth dough.
  • When the dough is ready, divide it into 3 equal parts.
  • Take one ball, dust some flour, and roll it into a roti aprroximately 6 to 7 inches.
  • Heat the tawa on medium to high heat.
  • When it is heated, place the rolled roti on it.
  • After a minute, flip it from the other side.
  • Cook for a minute on the other side too.
  • Now remove the tawa and cook it directly on the flame, till it has golden flakes.
  • Repeat the same process for the other dough balls.
  • Now take the rotis and break them into pieces.
  • Add all the pieces into a blender or food processor.
  • Blend until it's like breadcrumbs.
  • Remove them into a platter or a bowl.
  • Add jaggery and ghee to it.
  • Mix them with your palms till they combine well.
  • Garnish with chopped almonds before serving.

Notes

  • Use wheat rotis for a soft and authentic flavor.
  • Use homemade ghee as it gives a melt-in-the-mouth texture.
  • Taste as you mix the jaggery and add to your desired taste.
  • You can add some cardamom powder to enhance the flavor.
  • You can shape the churma into small balls for an elegant and easy-to-serve sweet.
