Heat ghee in a kadai and add the grated bottle gourd.
Start sauteing them with a spatula until the raw smell is gone.
It takes 3 to 4 minutes to remove the raw smell of bottle gourd completely.
Now add the milk and heat it over a high flame until it comes to a boil.
When the milk comes to a boil, turn the flame low and keep cooking until the milk thickens.
Stir in between with a spatula so the bottle gourd doesn't stick to the bottom.
It takes 10 to 12 minutes for the milk to reduce properly with the bottle gourd.
Now add sugar and cook till the sugar dissolves.
When the sugar dissolves, add grated coconut, almonds, and cardamom powder.
Mix well and continue to cook until the ghee separates from the halwa.
When the halwa starts releasing ghee from its sides, turn off the flame.
Serve hot and garnish with your favorite nuts.
