- 1 cup vermicelli
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium potato, finely chopped
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp turmeric powder

Heat oil in a kadai with some cumin seeds. Let them sizzle for a few seconds.
Add chopped onion and saute until light golden.
Then add potato and green chili, and saute for a minute.
Now add 2 tbsp water, turmeric, and salt, and cook the potatoes over low heat until half cooked.
When the potatoes are half done, add vermicelli and 1.5 cups of water.
Cook on low to medium flame until fluffy or soft.
Stir it with a spatula so the vermicelli doesn't stick to the bottom of the kadai.
When all the water is absorbed and they are soft, turn off the heat.
Serve them with a cup of hot chai.
- Roast the vermicelli on medium heat till golden.
- Cut the potato into thin slices.
