  • Heat oil in a kadai with some cumin seeds.
  • Add chopped onion and saute till golden.
  • Then add potato, green chili, turmeric powder, and salt.
  • Add 2 tbsp water. Mix them well. Cook potatoes on low heat until soft.
  • When potatoes are soft, add vermicelli.
  • Then add 1.5 cups of water. Mix well.
  • Cook on low to medium flame until they have a fluffy or soft texture.
  • Stir in between so that the vermicelli does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  • When all the water is absorbed and they are soft, then turn off the heat.
  • The namkeen jave recipe is ready to serve.

Notes

  • Roast the vermicelli on medium heat till golden.
  • Cut the potato into thin slices.
  • Pour the water that I have mentioned.
  • Cook on a low flame; a high flame can overcook and make them soggy.
  • Do not overmix them. Just fluff gently.
