Namak Pare

Namak pare is a crispy snack made with fine flour, salt, oil, and ajwain. It's a popular North Indian appetizer that is mostly prepared at festivals like Holi and Diwali.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup fine flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ajwain
  • 2 tbsp oil/ghee
  • ½-1 cup water
  • oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Take 2 cups of fine flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp ajwain, 2 tbsp oil in a large bowl. Mix all the ingredeints well.
  • Pour water little by little and knead it into smooth and tight dough.
  • Now make equal small balls from the dough.
  • Take one ball and roll it with roller in a round chapati aprrox 7 to 8 diameter.
  • Now cut it with knife in strips shape.
  • Heat the oil in kadai on medium heat.
  • When the oil is heated slide the cutted strips into it.
  • Fry them and stir at intervals until they have golden texture.
  • When they have in golden color remove them with spatula.
  • Place them on a plate.

Notes

  • Add extra ingredients like black pepper powder and fenugreek seeds powder to make it more delicious.
  • I don't use any chili powder here. But if you like to eat spicy food, then you can add it easily.
  • When mixing the dough, you can add ghee instead of oil, which also gives a good taste.
  • Making a tight and smooth dough helps the pare to come out more crispy.
