Besan Barfi Recipe
This mouth-melting and delicious besan barfi recipe is made with gram flour, ghee, sugar, and nuts.

- 1½ cup gram flour
- 7-8 tbsp ghee
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tbsp chopped nuts
Make sugar syrup
Take 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a pan on medium heat.
Let the sugar dissolves in water and bring them to a boil.
Cook it till it has a one string consistency.
Take a drop let it cool down and check with your fingetips and seperate gently. If it has string consistency the syrup is ready. Turn off the heat and keep the syrup aside.
Roast Besan
Take a kadai and heat 7-8 tablespoons of ghee in it.
Add gram flour to it. Mix them very well.
Now stir the gram flour continously till iit has golden brown.
It takes 10-15 minutes to roast the gram flour properly.
Now add the sugar syrup to it.
Cook it for 1 minutes. Mix them well and you see a thick mixture.
Freeze Besan Barfi
Take a platter and greese some ghee to it.
Pour the mixture to it. Garnish chopped nuts to it. Press gently with spatula at the top.
Rest it for 5 minutes.
Slice it with a knife into peices.
Now the besan barfi is ready.
- When you roast the besan, keep stirring continuously. If you don't do this, there will be a chance of burning the besan.
- Make sugar syrup with a 1-string strong consistency to freeze them with a good texture.
