About the homemade green chutney recipe

Green chutney, also known as Hari Chutney, is made with coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, cumin powder, salt, and water. You need only 6 ingredients that are easily available in every home. Put all together and blend how simple it is.

The green chutney mainly focused on the herbs like coriander and mint leaves. My recipe uses coriander leaves only. Greens are packed with nutrients, so the chutney can be easily replaced with sauces, because it aids digestion. In all seasons, this is the perfect and healthy staple for its nutritious flavor.

Every Indian home knows this hari chutney story very well. In North India, people mostly eat simple chutney paired with hot phulka, and I’m one of them. If there is nothing to eat, I prepare this and eat it with chapati. Whether it’s snacks, a full meal, or simple roti, it goes well with everything.

Apart from other chutneys, this homemade green chutney recipe gives full homey vibes. My whole family demands this green chutney every week except my baby brother. He didn’t like this, but I forced him to try, and at last he tasted and said Wow! It’s amazing.

There are many ways to prepare this chutney in a mixer grinder, a mortar & pestle, or a slab & roller. I used to make it on a slab & roll a few times, which gives a totally different taste, but it is a time-consuming method. In the jar, you can prepare within 5 minutes. If you are in a hurry, it is the safe option.
