One-Pot Ghee Rice
Perfect Winter Comfort Food

Warm, aromatic, and made with desi ghee - this one-pot ghee rice feels like home in every bite.

1 cup basmati rice
2 tbsp ghee
1 small onion
1 bay leaf
1-2 cloves
2 green cardamom
1 cinnamon
2 cups water
1 tsp salt
Ingredients

Wash rice twice or thrice in clean water. Soak them in water for 15 minutes.

Heat ghee in a pan or pressure cooker. Add whole spices and saute till aromatic.

Add sliced onion and cook till golden. Add soaked rice with water and salt. Mix well.

Cover the cooker lid and cook till 1 whistle.
For pan cook with covered for 12-15 minutes on low.

Switch off the flame. Rest for 5 minutes then open the lid.

Fluff gently. Serve hot with dal for a complete winter meal.
