Simple Moong Dal Khichdi Light and Comfort

This warm and comforting moong dal khichdi made with rice, lentils, and mild spices. A perfect light winter meal used to serve in lunch and dinner.
1/2 cup rice
1/2 cup moong dal
1 tbsp ghee
1/2 tsp jeera
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp asafoetida
3 cups water
1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
INGREDIENTS
Wash the rice and lentils in clean water and soak them for 15 minutes.
STEP 1
Heat pressure cooker add 1 tbsp ghee with some cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
STEP 2
Add soaked lentils and rice with 3 cups of water and spices. Cook it till one whistle.
STEP 3
After one whistle kkep the flame low for 10 minutes. After that close the flame.
STEP 4
When pressure comes down naturally open the lid and add chopped coriander leaves on it.
STEP 5
Serve it hot adding ghee on it alongside with chutney, papad, and yogurt.
